Innovation for Change is dedicated to the world of Impact Innovation

The aim of the whole programme is to utilize the most advanced types of technology to help solve problems of social interest, with the ambition to generate a significant impact on the world in a medium-long term perspective.

Each year, this project involves 50 talented young students, 35 MBA students from CDI Italia and 15 Ph.D. students from Politecnico di Torino with a scientific-engineering background. They are divided into groups and supported by researchers from CERN and the Politecnico di Torino to develop business ideas capable of positively impacting the challenges linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG).

From the work done by the teams between Turin and Geneva, 8 business ideas are born each year to offer innovative products or services to the market. The teams are supported by partner companies and institutions, as well as by a network of mentors made up of entrepreneurs and professionals.

Each participant will learn how to apply advanced technological tools and solutions while accessing maker spaces and tech libraries that give them the opportunity to create working prototypes. The project also makes use of the collaboration between companies and institutions. This collaboration guides the students as they encounter challenges and aids them to find workable solutions.

The results are presented each year to an audience of companies, entrepreneurs and investors, during a demo-day.
